YOUR HAIR JOURNEY

Change can feel like a lot, even when in the end when are changing to simpler, easier things. I encourage you to view the understanding and embracing of the natural movement within hair as a journey. We are moving in a direction and our hair is moving in a direction, with the hope that we can get to where we meet and sync our steps so we can journey forward together. For Hair Professionals, we want to be able to identify where our guest’s hair is at and where they are and guide them to that synchronized walk. It’s a delight to get to see and be a part of people’s journeys. It’s not about me and your hair; it’s about you and your hair—I’m just here to help and support you both, whether you are going on a peaceful, or adventurous journey together.

There is a lot of information out there about curly hair and I believe we still have a lot more to discover, yet I don’t think everyone needs to take it all in and make sense of it all to be able to be successful with our hair—especially if we have a Hair Professional who can guide us. My attempt is to provide a comprehensive look and cohesive approach to the Natural Movement in Hair that encompasses all hair.

As Hair Professionals, there is a benefit to getting to where we understand how to read and analyze the Hair Elements that make up each head of hair, and the Movement Elements of hair that has natural movement to it. Then understanding what the combinations mean for us as we interact (Cut, Color, etc.) with the hair and what it means for our guests as they interact with their hair (Routine, Product Selection, etc.). I RECOGNIZE THIS IS MORE IN-DEPTH THAN A LOT OF HAIR PROFESSIONALS ENGAGE WITH HAIR, yet I believe it is worth getting to where we engage with hair at this level so that we can stop ignoring the needs of the majority of the population of the world, and be more successful with working with all hair (even if those whose end goal IS to force hair to do what they want it to do). #allpeopleallhairwelcome
